WATTPAD BRINGS YOU A GUEST POST FROM AISLING FITZSIMONS, AUTHOR OF AISLING’S DIARY:
Yesterday, I posted the first chapter of Aisling’s Summer Diary! From now on, every Tuesday and Thursday, stay tuned for a new chapter and a new episode, just like last time!
But that’s not all I have to share with you in the good news department! This will be the first of many guest posts I’ll be writing on Wattpad Insider.
For those who have no idea who I am, here’s a quick introduction. My name is Aisling, I moved from Boston to Dublin when my parents decided to go back to the old country to start a new life. Being the new girl was not that easy at first but then I met Siobhan and Ali and we became best friends. I honestly can’t imagine my life without them anymore.
I also met Murphy, the boy next door, then boyfriend, then…whatever he is right now.
So on my premiere on Wattpad Insider I’m going to share with you what I wish boys would do more often… or at all.
1. Say goodbye when they’re going out of the country in some stupid dance competition I have to know by accident from other people.
Oddly specific? Probably… but this is very much on my mind right now. Please boys, if you’re dating someone have the decency of telling them if you’re not going to be around for a day, a week or the whole summer for that matter.
2. Define the terms of the relationship
There’s nothing worse than being in the dark about your own relationship. When my friends ask me “Are you guys dating?” I want be able to say a little more than “Sort of… I think so.” Besides, it’s always nice to have an official date for when it all started, right?

3. Surprise the better half
Even if a girl says she doesn’t like surprises, a little romantic gesture from time to time can’t hurt. When I say I don’t like surprises I actually mean that I don’t want to feel obligated to do something I don’t want to, specially if I’m caught by surprise. But when you’re in a couple you ought to now what the other person likes and dreams of and that’s got help to plan something amazing.
4. Be original
I don’t know about you, but there are only so many times I can act happy and surprised when someone gives me flowers and chocolates. It’s not like I don’t enjoy it, I just wish it could be a little more personal, you know? My point is people are unique. There’s not a perfect “one-size fits all” formula to make them happy.
Oh! And a cute personal pet name would be nice as well, I’m sick of the old “hun” and don’t get me started on the “baby” one.
5. Be sincere
Girls can be a little intimidating and most boys fear their girlfriends’ reaction, but the truth is when we ask for an opinion it’s because we want it! OK… sometimes when I don’t hear what I’m expecting I snap a little too quickly, but it’s just my stupid pride getting in the way, it’s not like I’m actually mad. Besides, in the long run it’s better to know that your boyfriend will tell you if something’s wrong than to never be sure of what he really wants and likes.
Girls, what do you wish boys would do more often? Boys, what do you think about my five-point wish list and what do you wish girls would do more often? I can’t wait to hear your opinion! I’ll be discussing this all through the week on my beChilled TV Facebook and Twitter @bechilledtv. Join the discussion using the #iwishboys or #iwishgirls hashtags.
Love,
Ais
